This is an unlikely life story of an Iranian-born American that grew up in a small oil company town in southwest Iran in the 1950s. It describes events and experiences within Iran that led him to different countries and continents in pursuit of a childhood dream inspired by teaching in a remote village and encouraged by a humble father figure. His journey took him to Britain, Venezuela, and ultimately the United States where he taught for thirty-three years at universities in Ohio, Texas, and Nevada. Upon retiring from academia in 2017 he moved to Los Angeles, California and embarked on writing this memoire. His story brings to life the different world he grew up in that spurred his educational aspirations and twists in life’s journey that took him beyond what he could imagine.
